Description

I promise that I will update this -_-

one thing about the Nintendo 3DS Camera is that you really have to know how angles and light work. I have lots to learn about 3DS photography :movingon:

1. all these games are mine
2. all the games still work!
3. all these games still get played!

with a monther before X & Y launch worldwide, I figured that I will show you my look backward as I now look forward. now I'm probably telling you my age with this picture, but someone's gotta say it. how many Pokémon Trainers can say that they have physical proof of being there since the beginning? every region where a trainer can catch (if not steal), train/battle and level up pokémon, I have been there. so let me give you the setup in this picture:

the back left on the table is where it all began for us Western trainers, with pokémon red, blue, and yellow for the Game Boy (yes, the big, fat, 4 AA battery blue to yellow screen Game Boy) and they are on cartridge cases. in front of them are fired red and leaf green for the Game Boy Advance--these games represent the Kanto region; the back right on the table is where many trainers of "yesterday" began, with pokémon gold and silver for the Game Boy, and Crystal for the Game Boy Color. in front of them leaning on an opened case is heart gold and soul silver for the Nintendo DS--these games prepresent the Johto region. many trainers believe that Johto is where the series truly came alive, and many today feel that the heart/soul remake are the icing on the cake of saying this is the best region ever, even with the addition of two extra types.

in the center, oddly placed in an arc on my DS is where I disagree with you Johto fags, pokémon ruby, sapphire and emerald for the Game Boy Advance. the days of buying AA batteries came to an end--these games represent the Hoenn region, and have also represented the biggest change in the series. not only was it impossible to 'link' between worlds, you were sent to an island setup, and it also did two other things to the game: 1. It gave pokémon abilities and personalities, which 2. turned pokémon's gameplay into a game of science and stats. how many of you can honestly say you thought about "values" when training the 'mon in red-crystal? you took a lot of fun out of the game. still, I like Hoenn the best of all the regions so to date, and I am glad knowing that Game Freak nixed a Hoenn remake... it's not needed; in the back on top of the Nintendo Gamecube, are pokémon colosseum and XD gale of darkness. those discs are leaning against their game boxes and the Gamecube that no longer works (I have a second one that does work) is wearing the XD GoD skin on it.--these games represent the Orre region. truth be told, the idea of stealing pokémon from other trainers was only possible with game altering devices, but in the big badass 3D goodness, stealing pokémon was the MO of the game. in addition to stealing, Orre brought 1. emphasis on a region where there were no pokémon in the wild, so traveling en route made no sense. 2. in the case of XD, brought out designated areas to catch wild pokémon, 3. introduced 'pokémon hatred' and the fact that you needed to rehabilitate them so they didn't feel like weapons and 4. put more emphasis on double battles, which meant more skill was needed. you rarely did single battles in Orre... lastly, Orre experimented with portable-household console interaction to fill in the gap of the previous two regions. sure, we had this interaction in the Stadium games, but to 'link level' between household and portable console was something you really couldn't take advantage of in story, unlike in a stupid tower. plus, this brought back more of our faves to play with.

the front row is where the trainers of "today" should be. starting on the left and leaning on a GB case are pokémon diamond, pearl and platinum for the Nintendo DS--these games represent the Sinnoh region. frankly, the Sinnoh region pissed me off... don't get me wrong, some really cool pokémon are here, and the migration tihng is a wonderful concept (one that passes on to Johto's revision), but the extra stuff outweighted the main game. digging underground for a requirement, contest halls were all in one spot instead of going from city to city like you should and the fact that like Hoenn, personalities were further enhanced by traits, which means more "values" BS. the one silver lining of Diamond and Pearl was Hearthome's hub functionality gave homage to Saffron's hub and Ecruteak's hub function on how you could get badges in various order... too bad Platinum killed that in exchange for more favorites. at least you can link to Johto revisited and region rape the pokédex. too bad the custom Johto balls don't show up in their luster in Sinnoh; in the middle, leaning on the front of my DS are pokémon black and white, and on the right in front, leaning on another GB case are black 2 and white 2, all four are for the Nintendo DS--these represent Unova. Unova brought four interesting game changes: 1. until the Unova revision in B&W2, the pokédex was a clean slate, unlike the Hoenn region that let you keep some past favorites. all the pokémon were new... and the fans made Game Freak correct themselves with B&W2; 2. migration was altered so none of the awesome stuff you saved from Sinnoh (and Johto revisited) can go with them. <--that pissed me off, all the berries I harvested and cool curatives I had, hold items I found, and the master balls I saved... wasted. at least if you caught something in a Fast Ball, it wasn't changed to a Poké Ball like in Sinnoh. the old ways vs. new ways crap is overplayed, too. but at least B&W2 lets you face the gym leaders of the past and whoop that ass again.

3. balances out the old ways vs new ways in B&W2. especially since you needed the previous Unova to work wonderful loopholes around the pokédex, granted the black/white versions were already national. too bad the outbareaks in B&W2 make everyone high leveled =( and 4. it brought about using dreams to catch pokémon. there are two ways you can do this-- via the internet using the Global site, which will shut down soon to prepare for X & Y, to medal rallying for dream world medals should be done quickly it you haven't already, and through use of the 3DS minigame pokémon Dream Radar. these introduced trainers to the Dream World, and pokémon found there have a specific ability from those found in the wild on routes. the exception to this rule are the hidden grottoes in B&W2 that give pokémon their dream world ability.

suffice to say, when the next region comes, I will have some more carts to add and a picture to update, and of course, more EXP to gain. well, enjoy trainers!
